The Odoo alternative that fits on cPanel hosting.
Odoo is the most capable product in this comparison and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Eighty apps, a huge partner network and genuine enterprise depth. It also charges per user, needs a real server with PostgreSQL, and usually needs a partner to implement. This page is about whether that is the right trade for you.
The short version
If you have a systems administrator and a budget that scales with headcount, Odoo is probably the better product. If you have a cPanel account and twelve people, the per-user price and the infrastructure requirement are the two things that will hurt, and they are exactly the two things this product is designed around.

Odoo pricing is the published list price for Odoo Online in August 2026, billed annually. Odoo Community is free to licence but excludes Studio, marketing automation, some accounting depth and quality, and still requires a server you administer.
The two numbers that decide this
The first is headcount. Odoo Standard is $24.90 per user per month on an annual commitment. Ten users is $2,988 a year. Forty is $11,952. Ours is $108 a year at any headcount, because the unit is the company rather than the person. Over three years with a growing team the gap is usually the largest number in the whole evaluation, and it grows precisely when you can least afford it, which is while you are hiring.
The second is infrastructure. Odoo needs PostgreSQL, a Python application server, a reverse proxy, a worker configuration and somebody who understands all four. Odoo Online removes that by hosting it, which also removes the self-hosting benefit you may have been looking for. Odoo.sh sits in between. There is no arrangement in which Odoo runs on a $3 shared cPanel account, and that is not a criticism of Odoo, it is a different engineering target.
Where Odoo is genuinely better
Multi-step warehouse routes with putaway and removal strategies, cross-docking, quality management as a full module, the website builder, marketing automation, appointment scheduling, field service, PLM, and the sheer breadth of eighty apps. If any of those is load-bearing for your operation, we do not have an equivalent and you should choose Odoo.
Where we are genuinely better
Total cost at any headcount above two people. Installability by a non-specialist. Running on hosting you already pay for. And a considerably shorter distance between deciding to try it and having it working, which for a small business is worth more than most feature comparisons admit.
When they are the better choice.
Genuinely. These are not straw men.
You need deep warehouse or manufacturing
Multi-step routes, putaway strategies, cross-docking, PLM and full quality management. Odoo's supply chain depth is real and we do not match it.
You have two or three users, forever
At two users Odoo Standard is about $50 a month for a considerably broader product. The per-user model only hurts once you grow, and if you will not, it may not hurt at all.
You want a local implementation partner
Odoo has partners in almost every country who will implement, train and support you in person. That is worth a great deal, and we have no equivalent network.
You need the website builder
Odoo's CMS, blog, forum, eLearning and events apps are a real product. Ours is a storefront and some SEO pages, and that is all it claims to be.
About switching.
Can I import my Odoo data?
Yes, through Odoo's CSV export and our guided importer, with a preset mapping for the standard models: partners, products, invoices, payments, and a trial balance for the opening position. Custom Studio fields need mapping to custom fields on our side, which the importer lets you do at the mapping step.
Is Gyro Suite a fork of Odoo?
No. It is an independent Laravel and PHP codebase. We studied Odoo's data model closely and copied several concepts deliberately, particularly the company_id scoping pattern and record rules, because they are the right way to do multi-company. Concepts, not code. Odoo Community is LGPL and Enterprise is proprietary, and we have used neither.
Why MySQL rather than PostgreSQL?
Because shared hosting runs MySQL and MariaDB. PostgreSQL is arguably the better database for this workload, and if we were targeting VPS deployments we would have chosen it. Targeting cPanel made the decision for us, and MySQL 8 with generated columns and functional indexes handles everything we need.
Do you have anything like Odoo Studio?
Partly. You can add custom fields to any entity, build custom forms, define workflows and approval chains, and create no-code automations with triggers and actions, all without touching code. What you cannot do is create entirely new models and screens the way Studio allows. That is a real gap and it is on the roadmap.
